Thanks for sending that package my way! We are excited to do p90x. And thanks for everything else that you guys do for me.
So whitewashing is just when to missionaries take over an area. Since the sisters were here and then we just took over we don't know that much about the area so they call it whitewashing cause it is kinda a whole new change for the area. Sounds like the exercise is going good dad, I have run that trail a few times and it seems like it would be a good one to go down and you have a pretty good view of the valley. That should be sweet having the missionaries over, tell them I saw hi and that I hope they are doing well.
I am doing pretty well. We have been tracting a lot, going through the former investigators and contacting them and seeing if they want to learn anymore, and also going through the ward list and trying to get to know everyone on the list. There has been a lot of less actives and inactives in most of my areas so we try to contact them and just see if there is anything we can do for them. We also offer service to most of the people we meet. Most people say no though, haha but sometimes I wish they would let us do it so we could get out of the suit and tie and into some normal clothes hah. Service always makes my day a little better. I just thought of a funny story from last week in church, a young man was assigned to talk he got up and basically said he forgot his talk, said something really quick about the topic, tried to quote a scripture but wasn't really sure where it was, and then ended haha he was laughing and a lot of people in the congregation were too. The bishop couldn't help but laugh either.
Well I love you guys and hope you have a great week! :) I will talk to you later!
Yesterday was a holiday so we couldn't email haha so I apologize about that. But these week has been a really good week. So we cover half of farmington 4th ward (we share the ward with two other elders) we cover the south part of farm 4th. The area farm 4th covers is the southern part of farmington over to the eastern side. If you look at a map we cover south of the big hospital and east from about there. It is a great area so far. Whitewashing is quite the experience, we have been contacting a lot of new people. They used to have sisters here and everyone loves the sister missionaries. (which makes sense because sister missionaries are probably a lot better than the elders) haha but 2 times already we have had people say they didn't really want us to teach them because they only liked the sister missionaries, it was pretty funny. We have met a lot of people who said we could come back, so we will see how all that goes. But I really like the ward so far and I really like the area. And I the apartment as well. We are living in an apartment that basically the bishop owns and we live right next to him. We got an upgrade on our hot water heater. I don't remember if I told you guys but in Flora Vista the hot water would run out super fast and someone would end up taking a colder shower haha. So the very first time we went into our apartment here, we looked around and elder short opened up a room and turned around and had a huge smile on his face. We were both stoked to see a big hot water heater. But yeah that is some of the good things that have been happening here. Yesterday we went to the park and played soccer and also slack lined ( mom and dad you can probably ask sarah or mark or jenn about that if you don't know what it is) and then we played basketball. It was a good p day. We'll I love you guys. Thanks for all that you do for me! I hope you are all doing well. Have a fantastic week!
This week has been a really good week. Elder Short is a ton of fun and missionary work has been going really well. Grandpa Roundy is an amazing man. And no don't send him any money, even if you did I gurantee he would just send it back. He hasn't taken a cent for 30 yrs. All he wants to see is the smiles on peoples faces. I felt guilty when I was there and he said he was going to send you more jewelry. I tried to convince him otherwise, but multiple times he told me that that is what he wanted to do even though he had already sent you guys jewelry. One of the times he pointed to the wall and said, "Read that quote Elder. What does it say?" The quote was: Because I have been given much I too must give. That is how he lives. The companion I was on exchanges there with was a strong tongan man from Hawaii. One of the times when I protested again saying that we didn't need that much jewelry, Grandpa with a smile put his fists up in the air like he was going to box me. Then he looked at the elder that was with me and said, "You're strong, you take care of him." Haha as you can tell he is one great man. When I left for the last time he hugged me and told me he liked my character and that he loved me. That is probably the definition of brotherly love. I don't feel like I deserved that and I don't feel like I deserved the things he gave me. That whole exchange I was trying to think of how I could repay him for the kindness he had shown me. He doesn't want to be repayed. He just wants lives to be lifted. So in all honesty, the only way to pay it back seems to be to pay it forward. One great man though.
This week we met with a new investigator we found last week tracting. She had a lot of good questions. The first one was, are all mormons polygamists? Haha we had laugh and then explain about plural marriage in the early church and how it was commanded to be stopped later in 1890. But then she had a lot of really good questions about the church. When people have honest questions and they question with boldness, that is really when God will lead them to the truth. Christ set up a church when he was on the Earth. The true church of Jesus Christ. That people of the true church fell into apostasy and "grevious wolves" entered into the flock. But that same church was restored and brought back on April 6, 1830, with the same organization as the church Christ set up. Christ called apostles and called seventies just like he does now today through a prophet of God through revelation. I am not going to say I know this church is true, but I believe that this church is the true church of Jesus Christ. All that I have studied and learned, it leads me to believe that this is the Savior's church, not of men. And I believe that God does speak to men. Revelations and miracles are real, and I hope that someday I can say through revelation, that I know this church is true. But I believe this is the Savior's church. And "believe" is a powerful word; it is the expression of my faith.
Side story, we visited with a family at a motel, as we left there was a couple outside about to go into their apartment. I was backing the truck out. The first thing the man says we are living next to a bunch of morons! And then he proceeded to cuss us out. Elder Short waved at him and the man flipped him off and then elder short started waving faster when he did that lol. It is amazing how even though we have never met this man, that he could utterly hate us. In all honesty, it is sad. I don't know his background or story, but I feel bad that he holds that hate in his heart.
I celebrated my birthday with a daughter in the Harrington family. Her birthday was the 7th, but it was a ton of fun. We also had to say our goodbyes to everyone in the ward this week and it has been hard saying bye, but I am sure that the sisters will do really well here. Elder Short and I are getting moved to Farmington 4th Ward. I am pretty excited about it. And my address will still be 400 w apache st. so that is pretty sweet too. I am going into farmington today so I will check the mail then. Love you guys! Hope you have a fantastic week! Thanks for celebrating my bday haha. Talk to you later!!

ps. Mom were you able to find those books on lds.org? Thanks so much to everyone for looking for them. And I was wondering if anybody found anything on the hebrew stuff? I don't that is kinda a weird request but I think it would be kinda interesting to learn more about different stuff. The old testament was written originally in hebrew (and a little aramaic) and the new testament in greek/aramaic. Of course the bible has been through about a bigillion translations, but yeah if you can find anything sweet like the old testament in hebrew and a book about learning hebrew, that would be awesome. I guess just see what you can find. Love you guys! Thanks for all that you do for me!
Next transfers are feb 11, just a heads up on that. I will be sure to grab all the mail from the mission office when we go by there. This week has been a good week, sorry I am kinda pressed for time today. We knocked a ton of doors this week. We got 60 tti's. (Teach, testify, invites) Only a few people let us in but we found some new people who potentially will want to learn about the gospel. I also went on exchanges down to escrito again and stayed the night over at grandpa roundys. He is one amazing man, he told me a ton of stories from his life about ww2 and other things. He is super loving. He has been making jewelry for over 30 yrs and never has sold any of it for a cent. And you have seen his jewelry, it is amazing. He has cancer and 30 yrs ago was presented with an option of having a surgery which might not be to good or not having it and hoping for the best. He and his wife put it into the Lord's hands, and though he wasn't supposed to live that much longer he has lived 30 yrs since that time. The Lord has really watched over him. He is a good man. I hope you guys get to meet him some day. Today for pday we are going into farmington. should be a lot of fun. Oh and I did the rubix cube in 1 min and 4 or secs. So new record haha just thought you guys would like to know. Hmm funny tracting story, knocked on a door and a man answered and said oh do you guys want to talk to ben? Haha I had no idea who ben was but said yeah we wanted to. Ben came to the door and said he wasn't interested and shut the door right quick. Just those random moments that you can't help but smile in life. Oh the only other request I had, and I sent this to mom already, but the only other thing I was thinking about was, and I am not quite sure where you could find this, but I was wondering, if you guys can find one course, if you could also get me a bible in hebrew and maybe if you could find another book as well, that talks about learning hebrew in connection with reading the bible in hebrew. So a hebrew bible and a book that teaches hebrew in connection with reading the bible in hebrew. (or if you can't find a book that teaches hebrew in connection with the bible, maybe just one that teaches hebrew) I have no idea where you can find books like these. I know byu has a class on learning hebrew and I think they learn and read out of a hebrew bible and they might have a student manual on learning hebrew on the byu online store. I guess just see what you can find with that haha. Well thanks for all that you guys do for me. I love you and hope you have an amazing week! I am grateful to have a family like you guys. Send my love to the rest of the family as well. Have a fantastic week! I will try to send a letter your way! Love you!
