Heya Family!
We finally got someone out to church this week. It was awesome. I was just praying that this certain couple would come, and to my honest surprise there they came into the door. It was a good Sunday.
This week we also went on two exchanges, I went back to my old area in Aztec 1st Ward and then another day my comp elder short went down to Escrito and I stayed up in this part of the woods.
Ok we also recieved big news this week as well. So for the past few weeks we had been hearing rumors from 3 or 4 people that we were getting sisters in Flora Vista. At first we kinda just took it as a rumor, because I had heard that we were never going to get sisters in flora vista, because of crouch mesa, cuz it is kinda sketch sometimes. But then the last person that mentioned it to us told us he heard it from the stake president haha, so then I was thinking okay they might split our area and so we cover most of crouch mesa and then the sisters cover the rest of flora vista. Thinking about it more it sounded like we were going to both be shipped out and then sisters were replacing us haha. So we decided that we might ask pres batt about it. I ended up asking him and found out that at the end of this transfer me and elder short are both getting shipped out and sisters are replacing us. He said Elder Short and I are staying together though but we will be whitewashing another area somewhere else. I am kinda sad to head out but I am grateful I am staying with Elder Short and it should be pretty fun to whitewash this new area. We don't know where we are headed yet so I guess we will find out soon!
Well I love you guys! I hope you have a great week!

Dad Happy Birthday!!!! 1/20/2014

Hey family,
Happy Birthday Dad! This week was a pretty good week. Had a good pday, Tuesday we had zone conference in Farmington with a bunch of missionaries, wed had a good meeting with one of the couples that we meet with. We were planning on inviting him to be baptized, and so we started talking about baptism and then he was like, I want to be baptized when is your next baptismal service. Haha he basically put himself on date. They totally didn't come to church though, but no worries there. We were going through our former investigators trying to contact some of them and ending up coming to a home and knocked on the door. A lady answered and told us she was going to chop some wood. She had been in a car accident a year or so ago and chopping wood was hard for her, but she has to do it because she has three young kids. So we went out that day and helped chop some of the wood for them. That was Friday and then we went back on Saturday and brought a changed of clothes and chopped a whole ton of wood. She has two sons and we ended up playing basketball with them for awhile. This family is wonderful. They really don't have that much, but they are one of the kindest families I have met out here. That made my day on Saturday. After we left that home, we got back in the truck (we have a white Toyota Tacoma) and we had a missed call from bishop. We called back and he asked me if I would give a talk on sunday on service and do it out of the For the Strength of Youth Pamphlet. I said I would. I thought maybe I would just kinda be a fill in speaker, so I didn't worry about it too much. Oh and I thought I had one of those pamphlets back home. So the night went on, we got back home, and I looked for the pamphlet but totally couldn't find it, but I was super tired so I just ended up going to bed haha. Woke up the next morning late and hurried to church for meetings and still needed to find one of those pamphlets. You know how sometimes people leave their things out by the coat racks? Someone had left one out there. Needless to say I found out I was the last speaker in sacrament meeting, I had only written down a few scriptures and though about a couple ideas and wrote them down. Haha it was a fail on my part. I got up and was pretty nervous the whole first part, but things ended up going alright towards the end. It wasn't too bad haha.
Well I love you guys. Best of luck with work school and family!  hope you have a great birthday pops!! Love you guys! Talk to you next week!

Halfway 1/13/2014

I hope the new year has been treating you guys well. This past week was pretty good. Elder Short is a ton of fun to be with.
Let's see, some of the fun things this week.. So Elder Short is pretty into doing the rubix cube (he can do it in 30 seconds haha crazy) so sometimes we do that. And for Christmas he his family sent him some juggling balls and he was trying to learn and I taught him a little and he learned in only few a days. We just try to think of the randomest tricks to do and then try to learn how to do them, it helps take away all the little stresses of missionary life. He is super easy going though but likes to work hard, which is good.
He knows a lot about the scriptures and church history so it is pretty interesting to learn more about it all.
This week I started trying to memorize the scriptures a little bit more. Kinda as a joke I was like, I am gonna memorize all of D&C haha, so I memorized the 1st and 2nd section so far. It helps keep me busy I guess haha.
So church this week, we were waiting to see if any investigators would come and none showed up again, this is almost 8 weeks without someone at sacrament. After the sacrament was passed, we went out in the foyer to check one last time and to our surprise their was a family there that we didn't even really expect to be there. It was awesome. Finally got someone out to church, I was excited about that. And then we went to Gospel principles. Haha we were getting way off track in that class this week. And then there was a younger man who didn't want to go to primary, so we invited him and ended up going with him to primary with the older group. We sang songs and all that fun stuff, Elder Short and I enjoyed it a lot, but needless to say the young man we were with was laying on the ground in the very back corner of the room, good ol' primary. I think I forgot to tell you guys last week, but there was another young man last week in primary, who was giving his teacher a hard time. His teacher told him that if he continued to be bad she would go get his mom. I guess she had said the same thing last week because his reply was "oh, like you did last week??" Haha he totally called her out and so she went to go get his mom. If you knew his mom she is pretty straight forward, so we the teacher actually went to go get his mom this young man was totally shocked because he knew his mom would be mad at him, so he kinda just made a run for it. Haha he ran through the other wards sacrament meeting during the prayer, and so we spent most of the 3rd hour looking for him. His dad was kinda laughing about it and eventually they found him just somewhere around the church. Mom do you have any crazy stories like these in Primary?
We got a call from one of our former investigators this week who said he wanted to repent and be baptized. Basically I was thinking, well we can probably do that for you haha. He is just struggling with chew, but more so with alcohol, but he can overcome it and that is the bottom line.
Thanks for the letters and everything you guys have sent. I love you guys. I hope the work school goes well. Love you!

Hey family!
I am sorry to hear you guys are feeling sick. I hope you start feeling better soon. The 24 hr flu is honestly the worst. I hope this next week holds some great days for ya. My new comp is Elder Short and he is pretty awesome. He has been out 17 months and is from Logan, Utah. I am grateful to be with him. This week was a little bit shorter becuase of the new years and transfers. In this area, this is kinda weird, our busiest days are usually on tuesday. We have had up to 7 appointments on one tuesday alone which is pretty awesome.
This week I got a cold so I am recovering from that. One day we walked up the mesa to some appointments and I was so tired haha. But all in all it has been a good week.
I am running low on time but I just want you guys to know that I love you and I hope you are all doing well. Feel better and thank you so much for all you do for me. It means a lot. We have a lot of appointments set for this next week so it will be good. I will tell you all the stories next week. Haha I justy realized I totally forgot my camara. I will try to bring it by next time. Have a great week!
